Tim and I went for a drive on Saturday out East where I’d never been before.

First up we stopped after about an hour to let the dogs out in the river. Saffie had a blast swimming around for a stick. The current was quite strong though so she only went a few times. Even Dolce got quite wet which is unusual.

After that we drove until we reached Leavenworth, this beautiful little bavarian town that looks as if it’s been picked up out of Germany and dumped in America. The really cool thing is that even though there is big brand shops there, Starbucks, McDonalds and Bank of America to name a few, they alter their signs so that they fit in with the surroundings. Very cool.

After that we went to a sort of dam thing which had salmon jumping up it which was cool, I’d never seen that before. We also saw some cayakers going down the river which turned pretty rapid later on, I didn’t envy them.

Last on the list was White River Falls campsite which has a cool rapid section next to it. After we’d let the dogs run around a bit, and let Saffie swim further up stream, we went down to investigate. It was really cool seeing how the water had carved out the rockface.

After that we drove home, stopping only at Dairy Queen where I got a strawberry cheesecake ice cream which was nice.

All in all another fun day seeing more of the beautiful countryside around Seattle. Go here for the photos.
