One of the ways Bungie has made Halo 3 rise above other games is in it’s community. Even for Halo 2 Bungie.net could tell you how many games you’d played, kills you’d got and other fascinating stuff like that. Now for Halo 3 there’s saved films and screenshots. Every game you play, a video of it is saved. You can then go to Theater and watch them, and also make screenshots. It’s just something that makes it more fun to try to do things in a cool way that will make a great shot or clip.

But is it too much change? I’m still not sure how I’m gonna feel about this season. Burke is gone, Adison is gone, Meridith and Derek have split up (or have they?), Bailey didn’t get to be chief resident and now seems to be a pathetic excuse, Cally is whiney and paranoid as ever, George is back to being an intern while everyone else are residents and is being childish about it.

It just seems like too much change. But we’ll give it a chance. I really hope it does get better.

I see the summer hasn’t caused the writers to get any less emotional. Lots of twists and turns, some real surprises and of course some heartbreaking moments. Can’t wait to see where the season goes.

I downloaded Amy MacDonald’s album This Is The Life today and I have to say I love it. It’s upbeat and quirky and music you want to sing along to. She’s from Glasgow but you’d never know it from her voice, which is very impressive for one so young.

I’m a bit annoyed that I didn’t check her out before (I heard one of her songs on the radio yesterday and was intrigued) because she played a free gig in the Glasgow Apple Store on Tuesday which would’ve been cool to go to. Ah well.

I started reading one of the many books I’ve got to read, now that I’m done with Harry Potter, today. It’s called Seeker and it’s written by William Nicholson. It’s pretty good so far, a bit heavy on description but it’s setting the scene I guess. It’s the first part of a trilogy so hopefully it’s good enough to make me want to buy the others.

I started reading Atonement the other day but it was really heavy and I couldn’t get into it so I’m going to wait till I’ve seen the film and then try again. Hopefully I’ll like it more then.

I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the other night. I have to say I enjoyed it much more second time round when I wasn’t rushing to finish it. It was definitely a fitting ending to the series.

Heroes started it’s new season on Monday with an extended episode which on the whole I liked. A lot of people have been complaining that it was dull and boring. Yes it didn’t contain much action and was mostly dialogue but they need to set up new storylines for the season.

One thing I didn’t like was the idea of David Anders playing Takezo Sensei. It didn’t seem right. It seemed awkward. Hopefully it will pick up in pace next week.

Halo 3 arrived through my doorflap on Tuesday, and surprisingly scratch free. The game disc was loose in the packaging but it doesn’t appear to have any damage on it and I’ve managed to complete the campaign with it so it must be ok.

Yes I’ve already completed the campaign. It was only 9 levels long but it was pretty good. As with Halo and Halo 2 there was a lot of level repetition, Bungie is notorious for it, and a couple of pants levels but it was really good to get to the end of the story. The story seemed to take more of a front seat this time round which I liked.

Next, multiplayer…

I managed to fix the theme (the one you can currently see) after 2.3 broke it and I also got tags working for it. However the posts don’t display individual tags but on the right hand side of the page is a ‘tag cloud’ which has all the tags that I’ve tagged my posts with. Why are some really tiny an some rather large? For a very clever reason. The bigger ones are ones that have been tagged to the most posts. Clever eh?
