The beat goes on
Apple is hosting another “event” tomorrow and not saying what it’s for. The last one was at the beginning of August (are they gonna be monthly now?) and was for iMacs, Mac Mini’s, iLife and .Mac. There’s rumours flying around of everything from Wifi iPods to Mobile iTunes stores to the Nano Phat.
I think there’s definitely gonna be a video iPod redesign, it’s the only thing in the entire Apple lineup that hasn’t been redesigned in almost 2 years. Will there be a touchscreen interface a la iPhone? I think not. The scrollwheel is iconic iPod, and likely too expensive. I hope there’s a coverflow style of scrolling through your music though, I wish they could implement it into old iPods via a software update but I doubt it. Even if they could I doubt Apple would.
With the tagline “The Beat goes on” on the flyers sent out, many people are thinking The Beatles are coming to iTunes finally. However that is also the name of Madonna’s new album and she has a record of working with Apple. She was in that horrific iTunes Motorola phone ad and she also appeared at either Macworld or WWDC via iChat video chat one year.
Whatever happens it sure is funny to see how Apple manages to get such publicity with a simple flyer and tagline.
