I was looking at my Statpress stats for my blog today and it actually makes some interesting reading. Basically it tracks how many unique visitors, pageviews and feeds are logged as well as how many Google etc. spiders rape my blog on a daily basis. Since I installed Statpress at the beginning of December I’ve had 597 unique visitors, 6641 pageviews, 5716 feed views and 8980 spiders. My poor blog must have an ass looser than Samantha from Sex and the City.

But you actually delve deeper and find out unique stats for things like OS, Browser, Feed Type, Search Engine, Top Searches and Top Days. Unsurprisingly Windows XP is the OS most used to visit my blog with 73.2% but Mac OS X is second above Vista, and that doesn’t include me. OS X has an impressive 14.5% while Vista has just half of that with 7.5%. After that it goes down to tiny figures for things like Windows 200, Linux, iPhone and iPod Touch.

The browser battle is a much closer race with Internet Explorer 6 just beating Firefox 2 with 37.9% and 35.5% respectively. Internet Explorer has an impressive 22.6% and then it trickles down to 2.2% for Safari. Other browsers include Firefox 1, IE5, Opera, Netscape and interestingly, Firefox 3.

In feeds, predictably RSS2 is leading the field with 87.5%. Does anyone actually use Atom anymore? Google leads the search engines, shocking! 79.4% to Windows Live’s 13.5%. Search terms is kind of interesting, the top one is “halo3 imagesize:DIM_W_1280 imagesize:DIM_H_800″ whatever the fuck that is. Then it’s “airspiel”, “computers internet blog”, “breathe”, “torchwood” and then oddly “madboarder tim”. I can’t work out if someone was thinking my name is Tim or trying to find all my posts about Tim. My top day was  December 13th of last year, I think that was right after I opened the floodgates and let my blog show up on search engines so most of that is probably spam. So in that case my top day would be January 15th when I had 36 unique visitors.

It’s kinda fun to look at these numbers and be amazed all these people read the crap I have to say. Kinda worrying also huh?
