I just got done watching Genesis of the Daleks, one of the best loved Doctor Who stories of all time. I liked it up until the end, it felt like a cop out. I think back then it would’ve been more satisfying for viewers if the Daleks had been destroyed.
But of course then what other enemy could RTD write into all of his stories?

There’s something the matter with Kyle. He won’t move unless really forced to and hasn’t eaten his dinner, which is most unlike him since he always wolfs down his Chappie as though he’s never had it before in his life when really he’s had it every day for the last 11 years.
Can you imagine eating the same thing day in, day out? I couldn’t. Not even with my favouritest food Chicken Parmesan. I like variety, even if it’s the same things weekly, just so long as it’s not daily.
And I’m rambling. I can’t think what might be wrong with him. We had him at the park earlier and he seemed ok, though he hadn’t been to the park in a few days. But usually even if he’s pulled something he still repsonds to you straight away and excitedly.
He seems really sad. I was watching him and he seems to be breathing really shallow and he’s got a small lump on his side which I noticed a while ago but it’s really tiny so I don’t think it could be that.
If he’s not better in the morning I’m gonna phone the vet to see if they can fit me in in the afternoon after work. If they can’t I’ll call in sick to work and get an emergency appointment at the one next to my work.
I really don’t want to have to put down another of my animals so soon

I came home from work today and there was an envelope for me, it was one of my DVDs from Amazon. But which?
Turned out it was The Sontaran Experiment, which I’d already seen but couldn’t really remember. It’s not bad, it doesn’t have much action in it and is only 45 minutes long.
However it contains one special thing: The Sontarans. And when will we be seeing the Sontarans again? Why in April, when season four of Doctor Who starts.
Call it recon.

Hooray! The UPS man is coming by to pick up my 360 tomorrow sometime between 3 and 5 so hopefully it should be fixed within a week or two. Of course the problem after that is getting it delivered at a time when I’m in. If I’m not then who knows where the fuck they’ll take it.
For now I’m just thinking about it getting picked up.

Done with another Doctor Who book, The Stealers of Dreams, by Steve Lyons.
The stories in these books should be made into the episodes because most, if not all, would make brilliant episodes and most of them are better than the season three storylines.
One thing wrong with this story though was the confusion caused by the idea of what was real and what wasn’t. I know it was supposed to be sort of confusing but at some points it was just completely incomprehensible and I had to go back and reread to make sure I’d got it right.
I’ve started on The Feast of the Drowned and so far it isn’t bad but I’m not getting into it as quickly as the other Doctor books.

I started this blog. I’ve actually been blogging for longer than that but I think this is the longest I’ve stuck to one blog. I’m also almost up to 1000 posts!
I wonder how much I’ve grown, I don’t mean height, in a year. Am I maturer? Wiser? I highly doubt it.
Here’s to another year!

I got £15 of tips today, it’s my share of the tips I didn’t make all that today. It’s not much but it’s £15 more than zero!
Today wasn’t bad in work, glad my two long shifts are over though. Ten hours is a long time to be standing on your feet. Sarah’s back tomorrow so that should be fun, Sarah’s good people. Only in till 3 tomorrow so I should be in a better mood come night time.
I prefer getting out in the afternoon or early evening cos I feel like I can still do something at night, even if it’s just watch TV or game. If I’m working till 9 then I feel like I’ve done nothing all day but work.
I was gonna go to the park tomorrow for photographing but the forecast is rain, it’s been miserable the last couple days, so I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
Paula and Sabah want to go out on Saturday night. I really can’t be arsed cos I’m still trying to get over this cold and would rather just stay in and veg but if I don’t go they’ll just whine and whine.
I really don’t get the attraction of going out to drink, I have tons of drink that needs to get used up here in my house. It’s free. You don’t have to deal with other people but your friends. What could be better than that?

I watched my third ‘classic’ Doctor Who DVD tonight.
Robot is Tom Baker’s first story and it wasn’t bad. Not really much in the way of action until the end when the horrifically bad special effects just made it laughable.
Interestingly though the Robot’s name was K1.
I was going to watch Genesis of the Daleks tonight but I decided I’d watch Tom’s first episode first and then watch Genesis to see the difference in his style.
Apparently he got more bonkers as time went on.

I finished yet another Doctor Who book last night. Only Human was a bit odd and slow in parts but had a good storyline.
I’d like to know if it was factually accurate or not because it said that the humans killed off the neanderthals but I thought we were evolved from them.
Also one of the funny parts in Only Human was Captain Jack referencing the future Face of Boe, obviously they hadn’t decided he was gonna be him. Kind of a funny quirk that you otherwise would’ve missed.
My next Doctor book, The Stealers of Dreams, is the last one featuring Christopher Eccleston. It’s been very good so far.

I think finding out that the old Doctor Who’s are actually quite good is going to turn out to be a bad thing for me. Or rather, my bank balance.
I was in town today meeting Chris for lunch and I went to Virgin and they had Robot for £9, well Amazon had it at £15 so I bought that since I couldn’t get it cheaper online.
After lunch we were walking around and went to HMV and I found the triple DVD ‘New Beginnings’ boxset for only £20, well the cheapest I found it was £30 elsewhere so that was a bargain as well so I had to have that.
I’m excited to watch them but I have a feeling I’ll have to have them all now. I think there’s quite a lot of them too. Hm. At least most of them are pretty cheap at under a tenner.
Anyway in other news, it was fun seeing Chris again. I haven’t seen him in a couple months so it was good to see him and have a big chat.
