Hector Hectic
I worked from 9:30-5 today and it was totally dead in the morning so I was cleaning the big fridges in the kitchen, it’s not a bad job it just takes ages cos there’s three of them. It stayed quiet until about 12:30 and then it was busy for about an hour but it was manageable and I was on the till/taking out orders for most of it.
After I’d had my lunch, a very tasty cup of plum tomato and basil soup (which I’m hoping we’ll also have tomorrow) and half a baguette for dipping, it got really busy and we were totally backed up to the point where there was dirty tables everywhere and a twenty minute wait for coffees. There was only three of us in (Nalin, Ros and myself) and really it was pretty much like a Saturday so there should have been four of us on. I don’t know if Nalin didn’t realize it was a holiday or what but it was chaos.
Eventually Nalin had to phone Emma and ask her to come in early and that helped a lot and we got caught up so I left a clean Beanscene behind. Hopefully it won’t be as busy tomorrow even though it’s still a holiday for the schools.
I really don’t like when it gets chaotic like that, unless I’m on the till. I’m really good at the till but when I’m doing coffees and there’s a lot of checks I get really confused and muddle things up. I think Nalin’s realized that as she always puts me on the till when it’s busy. I’m hoping that’s OK and not a think she’d let me go over.
I’m in tomorrow from 9:30-3 so that should be a bit easier. Really not looking forward to my 9-6 on Friday…

Hi Jamie, long time no see! Pretty sure that’s my fault, things have been a bit mental lately. I had been wondering why I never seemed to bump into you around college any more
I’m glad you’re working and enjoying it - more than I can say about my work most of the time
Beanscene’s pretty nice, I sometimes go to the one in Woodlands when I’m over visiting my brother. I’m guessing that’s not the one you’re in, but still.
Are you free next week at any point? It’d be good to catch up
