Border Princes
I finished my third Torchwood book, Border Princes, last night. It was definitely the best of the three.
*spoilers follow*
In ways it sort of echos the Torchwood episode ‘Adam’ in that there is a sixth Torchwood member inserted and the audience is left feeling sort of ‘eh?’ about who this person is.
This story also highlighted a part of the books that I like, things happen that you would never know about unless you read the books.
In this case it’s Gwen cheating/breaking up with Rhys for James, the extra extra-terrestrial Torchwood member. However the story isn’t completely resolved in that you don’t know what happens with Rhys and Gwen after James has gone, you are left to assume they got back together.
I’ve started the next one, Trace Memory, and it’s been very good so far. I hope they do more of the books since there is only six of the Torchwood books but about twenty Doctor Who books.
