Dead Cert
I finished my latest book Dead Cert by Dick Francis tonight and I have to say it was the most engrossing book I’ve read in a while.
Dead Cert was published in 1962 (it’s older than Tim!) and tells the story of a jockey named Alan York and his eventful life after a fellow jockey and friend is killed during a race.
While everyone else writes it off as an accident, Alan swears it was murder and sets out to find out who was behind it.
The closer he gets to the truth tho, the more it seems to unravel as he and people close to him are hurt as warnings to stop his enquiries.
When another jockey is murdered for speaking to Alan he knows he has crossed the line and can either stop and be safe or go on and risk everything.
Overall it was a very thrilling book which kept me guessing as to who was behind it all when everyone seemed like a suspect.
Apparently Dick Francis has written a fair few novels so I will be sure to keep an eye out for his name.

I’m having this flashback, and I’m thinking that my paternal grandmother read a lot of books by Dick Francis.
Aw, that’s so sweet! You have something in common with my dead grandma. ^_^
