The recent heatwave in Seattle came to a spectacular finale last night with thunder and lightning for most of the night. While myself and Tim thought this was pretty neat, poor Saffie didn’t think so.
Like a lot of dogs she’s terrified of thunder and fireworks. So last night she had thunder and tonight and tomorrow night there’ll be fireworks aplenty for the fourth of July.
Couple this with the fact she already has a sore leg and the poor girl just can’t catch a break.
We had originally planned to go to Elbe this weekend, which is in the country, to get away from the fireworks. But with Saffie having her sore leg I don’t think we’re gonna be going. Which is a shame since now she’ll spend most of the weekend terrified.
We can’t even take her to the park during the days to get her tired out enough to sleep through the fireworks (not that I think she could anyway) cos the vet told us not to take her out and let her rest a couple weeks.
I guess Tim and I’ll just have to play Rock Band up loud all weekend. *sigh* The things we do for these dogs.
