New MacBooks

Apple had their little shindig today and as I predicted (but hoped I was wrong) it was less than spectacular. Pretty much nothing was a surprise thanks to the picture leaks all across the net. Amazingly the “price cut” rumours turned out to be completely wrong. Not only did Apple only lower the price of [...]

Fring

I just downloaded a new app for my iPhone called Fring. It allows you to call a variety of different networks such as Skype, MSN Messenger contacts and many more. I just tried it out with Ian and it seems to work pretty good. Shall be looking into this some more in the near future [...]

PAX Day Three

The last day of PAX is here already unbelievably. I don’t know that I’ve had as much fun this year as I did last year even tho I’ve done more.
I’m excited to see what the final round of the Omegathon is. Last year it was Halo 3 multiplayer so hopefully they can top that.

Early Satnav

Though the first satellite guided route devices came along in the 90’s, there was something almost as good in the 20’s. And you could wear it on your wrist.
Some of the gadgets on the list is really cool and ahead of their time. While some you have to wonder (finger stretcher?) why?

O2 is apparently the forerunner for the UK but they appear to have paid through the nose for it if rumours are to believed. Apple will receive 40% of [...]

New setup

I went to the Apple Store today and bought the mini-DVI to VGA cable to connect my monitor to my Macbook. I also bought the new iMac keyboard that was released early last month.
Having two monitors is pretty sweet. My MacBook screen is a good size for being portable but when you are running it [...]

Apple event results

Big day in the Apple camp today, new iPods, new iTunes, Starbucks and the iPhone is getting a $200 price cut in the States. That won’t go over well with all the people who shelled out $200 less than 3 months ago.
iPod Shuffle
First up were the iPods. The iPod shuffle remained the same design and [...]

The beat goes on

Apple is hosting another “event” tomorrow and not saying what it’s for. The last one was at the beginning of August (are they gonna be monthly now?) and was for iMacs, Mac Mini’s, iLife and .Mac. There’s rumours flying around of everything from Wifi iPods to Mobile iTunes stores to the Nano Phat.
I think [...]

New phone

So I got my new phone on Tuesday and I’ve been playing around with it for a couple days now. It’s pretty cool.
The keyboard is great for texting, takes a bit of getting used to in the beginning but very quickly has become the best phone I’ve had for texting. It has all the [...]
