Doctor Who Season Four

So Doctor Who season four finished on Saturday with an extended, companion filled episode that had the potential to be the best episode of the season. Was it?
In some ways it was. Donna was turned into part timelord and became really smart and pwnd the Daleks. But then she had her memory wiped and the [...]

You don’t need a job, if you’ve got a gun

Work’s been really busy the last couple days and I found out today I don’t have a day off till Thursday
But at least it means lots of pennies to spend in Seattle. I’m also prolly gonna be purchasing my flights in the next couple of weeks since I’ve been saving.
I’m hardly bought anything the [...]

Doctor, doctor, give me the news

Doctor Who season four starts on Saturday and today Doctor Who: The Five Doctors popped through my letterbox. I ordered it the other day along with a book called Resistance which I really wanted and needed something to put my over £15 so I got free delivery, boy I wish I had Amazon Prime for [...]

Border Princes

I finished my third Torchwood book, Border Princes, last night. It was definitely the best of the three.
*spoilers follow*
In ways it sort of echos the Torchwood episode ‘Adam’ in that there is a sixth Torchwood member inserted and the audience is left feeling sort of ‘eh?’ about who this person is.
This story also highlighted a [...]

Another Life

Finished my second Torchwood book, it was pretty good. Not as good as Slow Decay though but it was interesting.
It included a bit where Owen was whinging that he “was a Doctor everyday and would die a Doctor” and Jack says, under his breath “Not quite yet”.
Which lead me to wonder whether the writer knew [...]

The Keeper of Traken

I finished watching The Keeper of Traken, the first part of my ‘New Beginnings’ trilogy revolving around the Master and the Doctor’s regeneration from Tom Baker to Peter Davison.
It wasn’t bad, not a whole lot happened and the planet of Traken was a bit dull. But it was cool to see the Master in the [...]

Slow Decay

Another day, another book.
Finished my first Torchwood book and I have to say I was really impressed with it.
The books are the same number of pages as the Doctor Who books (250 pages) but they are physically bigger both in width and height.
They are also in hardcover (though the Doctor Who books can be [...]

The Resurrection Casket

What an excellent ending to my current run of Doctor Who books!
The Resurrection Casket was definitely one of the best books of the lot with a great steampunkesque storyline with a brilliant twist at the end.
Justin Richards is definitely the best writer of the lot as this and Clockwise Man are probably my favourites [...]

The Feast of the Drowned

I finished another Doctor Who book today and I have to say this is the first one I struggled to get through.
I don’t know if it was the setting or the rather lame enemy or what but it just read….dull. Which is odd cos there was quite a bit of action.
It’s not the [...]

Ghost Light

I watched Ghost Light last night. It’s from the last series of the original run of Doctor Who and stars Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor and Ace as his companion.
I quite like Sylvester as the Doctor and Ace is a pretty competent companion, if a bit gobby.
Sylvester also had the best title music, tho [...]
