Get a new ad

Now I love my Mac as much as the next guy, but these Get A Mac ads HAVE to go.
Apple is spending all their money with words when everyone knows people like pictures better.
Why not show off some of the features of Leopard? Show some kids having fun with the iSight camera?
All these ads [...]

WWDC

A couple of Mac websites are reporting that Apple is gonna unveil OS X 10.6 at WWDC next week and it’ll be released at Macworld in January 2009. Now while Apple have released OS update in less time than that before, I just don’t see it happening.
Leopard has been incredibly successful and is just starting [...]

Bad Mac

So the other day I was all set to install Vista and Ubuntu on my Mac so I could triple boot whichever I wanted. However when I went to partition my drive to install Vista with Boot Camp it told me I needed to reformat my drive.
So I did one last Time Machine back up [...]

Wolf in sheep’s clothing

For a long time now Apple has been perceived as the “cool” computer company and Microsoft has been the “bad guy”. Apple is to Microsoft what Churchill was to Hitler, with Linux being Charles de Gaulle. But after all the announcements last week at Macworld, is Apple starting to get a little smudge under it’s [...]

Macworld 2008 - The Results

A rather subdued Macworld this year, only five major announcements.
1) The iPhone gets some upgrades. Maps can pinpoint your locations, you can move stuff on the homepage, webclips, blah, blah. Nothing terribly exciting really. The iPod Touch also got updated with 5 of the apps currently on the iPhone: Mail, Maps, Stocks, Weather, Notes. The [...]

Spotlight on Spotlight

In all the time I had Tiger on my MacBook I never once used Spotlight, the searching utility in OS X 10.4. It was slow and just basically crap. But then out came Leopard with revamped Spotlight and so I thought I’d give it a whirl. It’s actually pretty good, it’s fast, it gives you [...]

Vista and iMovie

I had two Mac problems today. The first was/is iMovie which refuses to launch for some annoying reason. I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling it but to no avail. I’m gonna take it to the Apple Store if it isn’t work since I’m pretty sure they provide support for it.
The second was Boot Camp. I [...]

Mac Mosaic

One of the 300 new features implemented in Mac OS X 10.5 was the addition of a new screensaver mode for when you want to use your own photos. There’s the regular view that goes through each photo with transitions between each. Then there’s a view where you see smaller versions of photo’s as [...]

Lightroom 1.3

So I woke up this morning and I was reading through my news from my trusty RSS reader Vienna, when I came across an article about Adobe’s Photoshop Lightroom being updated to 1.3. Great I thought, it has Leopard compatibility so I should go download that. I hit the link to the Adobe download site [...]

Hello, I’m a Mac

Just when you thought it was safe to go out again, Apple releases 3 new ‘Get A Mac‘ ads on the public. As per usual, Apple takes the opportunity in this airtime to attack Windows, and mostly Vista, rather than highlight any of the great new Leopard features. At first the ads were cute but [...]
