New MacBooks

Apple had their little shindig today and as I predicted (but hoped I was wrong) it was less than spectacular. Pretty much nothing was a surprise thanks to the picture leaks all across the net. Amazingly the “price cut” rumours turned out to be completely wrong. Not only did Apple only lower the price of [...]

Get a new ad

Now I love my Mac as much as the next guy, but these Get A Mac ads HAVE to go.
Apple is spending all their money with words when everyone knows people like pictures better.
Why not show off some of the features of Leopard? Show some kids having fun with the iSight camera?
All these ads [...]

Lightbox

While the Mac is the superior computing platform, it does have some drawbacks.
Mainly that I can’t tell what things Internet Explorer is too crappy to display.
Which is what happened this weekend when I updated my Lightbox plugin. Lightbox is what I use to overlay images on click instead of opening them in a new window.
However [...]

This month brought to you by the number two

It’s a very two-y month this month.
Adobe released (and I got) Lightroom 2. I upgraded to Delicious Library 2. It’s Tim and I’s second anniversary on Thursday. I’m going canoeing in Seattle for the second time tomorrow. I received my second (and also third) Woot shirt on Saturday. I’m playing through Forza Motorsport 2. We’re [...]

Leopard has been incredibly successful and is just starting [...]

Haxxors to the Macs

One of the things that always bugged me about Leopard was that Apple never made the awesome pretty scrollbars from iTunes standard across the entire system.
So today I took it upon myself to do it. It looks much nicer now. I also got rid of the aqua progress bars and added the iTunes ones too. [...]

More Mac woes

What is hopefully the last of my Mac woes, I had to delete all my old Time Machine back up because it’s been back up really slow ever since I restored my system from it.
I think it had something to do with my username changing but anyway I deleted them all and now it seems [...]

Bad Mac

So the other day I was all set to install Vista and Ubuntu on my Mac so I could triple boot whichever I wanted. However when I went to partition my drive to install Vista with Boot Camp it told me I needed to reformat my drive.
So I did one last Time Machine back up [...]

Grab Up

Grab Up, not to be confused with the shitty dance “street” movie Step Up, is an interesting little application for the Mac.
When you hit command-shift-4 on a Mac, you are given a little set of crosshairs and you can click and drag over a selected area of the screen and a jpg of this area [...]

Winner!

I came home from work today to an e-mail from World of Apple. Thinking it was a newsletter or some such I clicked and prepared to delete.
Luckily I didn’t have to tho as it was in fact an e-mail informing me I’d won a license of ImageWell. I entered the giveaway last week when [...]
